I design and curate goods that celebrate artisans and cultures around the world. My background in art and fashion paired with a true love for textiles and travel is at the heart everything I create. Work with me to bring a bold, bohemian vibe to your project through my personal design services or shop my hand-picked global finds at Tribe.

Hey friend! I'm sonal.

One of the main things I am excited to share on this blog is a peek behind the scenes at my creative process. This is the first post in a series of design stories about some of the products I create exclusively for my retail avenue, Tribe

The Bracelet Handle Serving Board

From my past years as a clothing buyer, it’s no surprise that fashion is a constant source of design inspiration. High on my list of bohemian staples is the bracelet handled handbag. The trend comes and goes, but I’ve loved them forever. I bought my first one more than 15 years ago in Mumbai. The handles are made of actual bangles and it still makes me smile.

My love for the bracelet bag silhouette lies in its bold mix of shapes and textures. That grippable circle seemed like a natural fit for updating our boho kitchen board collection, and this long and gorgeous piece of poplar was the end result.

Oversized grazing boards are always a showstopper for entertaining. I can’t wait to pile this one high with all the trimmings.

Why I love wooden kitchen boards

Design wise, the wood grain is such an earthy complement to stone countertops and shiny appliances. It instantly adds warmth to a room that is at the heart of family life. Our patterned kitchen boards come in a million shapes and sizes. My picks for top wood stains this year are washed out gray, natural toned honey, or super dark ebony. Custom orders are easy as each one is handcrafted by my partners at the Grace Graffiti studio in historic downtown Brunswick, Georgia. Whitney, the owner, and I are both busy working moms who go nuts for functional design. This product, like many of their other wooden boards, is food-safe. The patterned side looks amazing on the kitchen island or leaned against my backsplash, and I can easily flip it over on the smooth side to double as a cutting or charcuterie board. (My favorite feature...Does anyone else have entirely too many things on their kitchen counters?)

Where can I get one?
